Between Screens
Living confined in apartments in the cities, the window is the element that brings awareness of the relation with an outside. And television, this other type of window, trying to bring the world into the house seems to enlarge the loneliness. But the same television that alienates also reflects. After all, what is in and what is out? What is reality and what is fiction? The sun which enters illuminates the environment with a sense of exterior. Thus, establishing a dialogue with the Dutch painting from the seventeenth century, where the window is the source of light that illuminates an everyday scene, the television here appear as the canvas that shows and reflects the intimacy of the house interior.
